"Sabbath [ ] had a prayer meeting in the morning and in the afternoon [ ] the sacrament was administered by the Bishops [ ] there was some little rain in the afternoon"

Today they are near Henry, Nebraska. It shows the Platte that they are still following and camping nearby.

I got a nice image off of Google Earth of the Platte River just a couple of miles outside of Henry so it's kind of interesting to know what the area looked like when they were camping there on May 30th.

As for the pioneers today, the camp is very sober and humble after Brigham's talk with them yesterday. It must have made an impression as every journal I read wrote about it. If you have some time, read William Clayton's view on what happened (scroll to May 29th & 30th). It's very wordy and descriptive and very interesting. William Clayton was the best diarist on the trip. I don't know how he wrote all that he did, but I'm just glad he did. In reading all the journals of today's date, nearly everyone noted what a somber day it was since Brigham talked with them.

Following is excerpt from "111 Days to Zion":

"A quiet and sobered camp remained settled for the Sabbath, still feeling the effects of the previous day's tongue lashing from Brigham Young. More attention was paid to religious matters and there was less of the usual activity and camp bustle as most pioneers stayed near their tents and wagons. "I never noticed the brethren so still and sober on a Sunday since we started," William Clayton observed. "There is no jesting, nor laughing, nor nonsense. All appear to be sober and remember their covenants, which makes things look far more pleasant."
